What is a tri-color LED? Tri-color indicators include two different colored LEDs. By default, both LEDs illuminate symmetrically and emit a light with a mixture of both LEDs. The best way to understand the function is to think of it as mixing color. For example, red and green become yellow when both LEDs are illuminated, resulting in bright yellow light.

Why LEDs? LEDs have many advantages, with longevity and low power consumption being the main selling points. However, there are several other reasons to consider:

• Temperature: LEDs emit a much lower temperature compared to incandescent or neon lamps.
• Direction: LEDs emit light in only one direction, eliminating the need for additional components such as reflectors. This is not applicable when the LED display is used as a PCB signal.
