For connecting external hard drives, this high-quality cable supports SATA 6.0 Gbit/s (SATA III) with a data transfer rate of up to 6.0 Gbit/s. It is backward compatible with SATA 1.5 Gbit/s (SATA I) and SATA 3.0 Gbit/s (SATA II). The cable features a 4-pin design with ground wires and includes two external 7-pin eSATA plugs.
