RED Skautfold: Usurper

Usurper is a sequel to Shrouded in Sanity, but knowledge of the first game is not required, as it is the second installment in the Skautfold series.

Usurper is a Metroidvania action RPG. After the otherworldly citadel has unleashed eerie horrors, your task is to liberate London from its terrors. Utilize the new "Guard" system, which rewards skillful play and precision, to uncover the massive structure and defeat the nightmares lurking within.

The combat system of Usurper is based on "Guard," a system that allows players to advance through attacks and take risks, with precise timing and risk assessment being rewarded. Instead of losing health immediately when the player is hit, they lose "Guard Points" (which function like a regeneration shield). When these are depleted, the player takes normal damage. However, if the player skillfully dodges incoming attacks, they convert a significant portion of that attack damage into "Guard Points," allowing them to turn the tide in battle and gain the upper hand. This system enables anyone to jump into the game while still providing a high skill ceiling for those seeking a challenge.
