Product details
With the NT-SF1, users receive a unique ambisonic microphone specifically designed for 360° surround sound. It is ideal for sports broadcasts, film audio, video game sound, and virtual reality (VR) sound, but it also excels in music performances such as orchestras, choirs, or organ music.
The TF-45C true condenser small diaphragm capsule was specially developed for the NT-SF1. Four of these high-end cardioid capsules form an accurate tetrahedral arrangement in the NT-SF1 to capture the complete ambient sound with a single microphone. The included Mogami special cable transmits the four individual signals separately in A-format, which can later be easily converted to B-format.
Thanks to Rode's typical manufacturing precision, the TF-45C capsules have a tolerance of less than 1 micrometer (1/1000 mm). The result is an astonishingly pure sound with an almost perfectly flat frequency response and extremely low self-noise. The microphone housing of the NT-SF1 is made of solid brass, coated with a luxurious, scratch-resistant ceramic finish.
With the free "SoundField by Rode" plugin, the recorded signals can be converted to B-format for further processing or output in mono, stereo, 5.1, 7.1, as well as Dolby Atmos 7.1.2, 5.1.4, or 7.1.4. Additionally, in post-production, the directional characteristics, polarity, and thus the localization of each individual channel can be adjusted. This allows for the creation of mixes for head-tracking applications and 360° videos. The "SoundField by Rode" plugin (VST, AU, AAX) can be easily integrated into Protools, Cubase, Nuendo, Reaper, and Logic. The NT-SF1 comes in a high-quality product box with a microphone mount, a windscreen, an additional fur windscreen, and a 3 m special cable from Mogami, terminated with 4x XLR-M connectors.
