A bit expensive, but I'm satisfied and now have a great, uniform WLAN at home.

Compared to the other TP-Link deco M5 devices, this version supports some additional details such as ZigBee (and thus also e.g. Hue Bridge integration), IFTTT, AC2200, multi-user (MU-MIMO).

Even if a separate channel is
used for the "backbone" below the routers, that's no guarantee that it has fast internet in a place where the WLAN doesn't reach well. I have 3 floors with what felt like atomic bomb proof walls, so placement was a bit tricky.

    Pro

    • ZigBee (allows integration Philips Hue Bridge or Ikea Tradfri Smartbulbs)
    • AC2200 with MU-MIMO
    • Very easy to set up
    • A large WLAN in the house, the devices are connected to the WLAN without interruption

    Contra

    • Only configurable via app (TP-Link Deco app)
    • No direct web interface
    • USB port can currently only be used for charging

Thank you for solving my problem

Increasing problems with my old wifi and therefore looking for a new solution. Doubt between the google wifi and the TP-LINK M5 and M9. Google is more expensive than the M5 but finally decided to go with the M9. The main reasons are the higher speed and also the zigbee chip, as the nest thermostat is high on my list. Installation was very easy, no more problems with my wifi and ready for the future!

    Great

What a super simple and perfect system !!!

I just installed the system with the DECO app that guides you step by step through the possibilities and placed the remaining 2 deco units each by +/- 15 meters next to the house.

    After
that I do not have to do anything more in terms of wifi and the like !!!
Since 2 weeks everything is running fine and I have only set up a few fixed IP addresses for me ...

No more daughters complaining about Wi-Fi speed or no range.
No more complaints about something not working or being charged on the internet ....
Everywhere in the house wifi (house with 650 m3 content) and even in the back of the garden (20 meters deep) you have an acceptable speed in the house. It is between 180 and 200 Mbps UP and 15 to 20 down, which corresponds to my internet subscription ( 200 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up).
What a relief to have this working so well!

Also, there is the built-in virus protection (free for the first 2 years) and the IFTTT options of virus protection is of course on, but with the IFTTT function I have done (NO) nothing, but is certainly an interesting feature ...

For anyone who wants to miss the crowd or spend on WLAN, this is a very decent and good mesh router ready for the future !!!

In our new concrete building, we've been dealing with WLAN on and off for the last few years. Accespoints, WLAN and everything was only half working. With tears in the eyes of happiness installed.

    I can definitely recommend this

Easy installation via the app. Really plug and play. I have never had such good coverage. The m5 was already ok, but this m9 also supports ZigBee so it's good in

    High cost performance

This works great in our townhouse. Wi-Fi kept dropping out, but since this was installed, no drops at all.
