An all-in-one device at a high level!

I bought the device and have to say that it's the best I've ever had. Not in terms of hardware, I mean, there are certainly better ones, even if not on this scale. But the whole product with its various applications is absolutely fantastic. I, for one, am thrilled.

    Pro

    • Tablet , notebook or desktop (with docking station) everything is possible.
    • Pen input (so far the best I have seen)
    • Battery (after 2 hours of filming it was still at 86%)
    • Display (Resolution Fantastic)

    Contra

    • US layout (you have to live with that at the moment)

    Top for the price

There is nothing better, nothing more beautiful, nothing simpler.
But a notebook can also be a tablet.
I have 12 current laptops and tablets at home and this thing is dreaming them all away. It also crowns the very good
Surface series from Microsoft (I have a few Surface tablets).
If you don't want to spend quite so much money, you should take a look at the other Surface devices.

    Pro

    • Very nice operating system (win10)
    • Best camera in this class
    • Registration via Iris
    • Most beautiful laptop on the market

Underground poor quality and bad service

Two months into the warranty, the Surface Book I bought for my daughter had a wobbly and much too puny ON/OFF switch that stopped working. If you google it, you find out that this is a common problem. So it's a design flaw.

Microsoft charged a flat rate of Fr. 638 for the repair. This is an outrageous rip-off for the repair of an ON/OFF switch.

The replacement device I received, however, has some serious hardware problems that my device did not have: the camera no longer takes sharp photos, the trackpad repeatedly does not respond, and when a beamer is connected, the display of the notebook flickers. So Microsoft just sent me junk at this rip-off price that they didn't test.

It's like a car manufacturer designing an unstable door handle and then, when it breaks, asking for the entire vehicle to be replaced for 6,000 francs and then delivering a car in which the lights, windscreen wipers and heating don't work.

    Pro

    • Performant CPU
    • Notebook & Tablet in one
    • Keyboard

    Contra

    • The ugly hinge makes the notebook unnecessarily thick.
    • The glossy display is annoying because it reflects even when the brightness is not too high.
    • Service from Microsoft is subterraneously bad.
    • Quality of the on/off switch breaks easily.
