Agressive warning messages trying to sell addtl. services, severely impacting pc performance
Used Kaspersky before, which did a decent job and was running mostly in the background. McAfee is very much in your face, the alerts and pop ups are annoying and have the character of border line malware. These warning messages can´t be turned off.
The negative impact on the performance of my laptop are painful.

Avoid like the plague...
A share on an annual subscription for the protection of 5 devices will have convinced me to try it, whereas for as long as I can remember, if I've always strongly advised against MCafee, it's because there were good reasons each time.
Several years have gone by, I've read a few recent tests on the net, and I say to myself why not try again, especially at this price, I haven't got much to lose. Well, I've just wasted some time and a bit of money in the process, for absolutely nothing. It's always nice...
First of all, it takes a very, very, very long time to install, not to mention the fact that it's surprisingly complicated for such a piece of software. I've rarely had so much of the feeling that I'm being taken for a ride unnecessarily... The company's methods are frankly more than dubious and questionable at almost every level.
An anti-virus is supposed to give us a feeling of security against things we can't assess and manage, when we're talking about more and more invisible threats, not give us the impression that they're trying to hold our computer hostage. Even for an anti-virus, the requests for access (and modification) permissions are excessive and never inspire confidence.
In the end, on Mac at least, without third-party software to get rid of this piece of junk, and all its residues, be warned that it will take you a while to get rid of everything left in the library after uninstalling the software, provided you know where to look...
Frankly, through comparison sites, you'll find software that's safe, complete, functional and easy to use without the slightest hassle. So avoid this software like the plague...Pro
