Edifier C2xd
Edifier C2xd
Conclusion: I have owned the Edifier C2XD for 3 weeks and would buy it again at any time. It's not a full-blown hi-fi system, but it's the best value for money.
Sound: The satellites with their MDF cabinets deliver a very lively, fresh sound. Even the midrange, which is critical for satellite/subwoofer systems, sounds amazingly good here; vocals come across very well. Speech reproduction in films is clear and well intelligible. However, the sound of the satellites is strongly directional.
The subwoofer does a very good job once it is set up correctly. If you're looking for a balanced, clean bass, you'll be happy with the C2XD. However, anyone expecting massive bass performance will probably be disappointed.
Workmanship: The workmanship is very clean, but the materials used are not overly high quality. The control knob is very imprecise and therefore hardly usable. However, the system can be controlled very well with the supplied remote control. I was surprised by the huge amplifier/control unit in relation to the satellites. But I can live with that.
Well suited for:
- everyday music enjoyment on the home PC
- atmospheric film sound from "only" 2.1 speakers with good speech intelligibility
- all those who value a balanced sound
Not suitable for:
- Room sound reinforcement (as the sound from the satellites is strongly direction-dependent)
- bass freaks
Tip: In the basic setting, the C2XD tries to be more than it is on the bass side. The subwoofer turned up very high sounds very obtrusive and unclean and thus destroys the overall impression. I prefer a subwoofer setting between 0 and +3 for a balanced sound.

Impressive. 1A sound quality for this price. Far better than comparably priced plastic systems.
Need this setup for my PC for gaming / streaming etc. and can only recommend it. Normally always a 5.1 system
(Which were far more expensive) connected. Emphasis on had - better install a decent 2.1.

The system not only looks good, it also has a super good sound. The separate amplifier is something special in terms of its shape and you don't always have to adjust the volume when you switch it on, it stays the same as when you switch it off. With the remote control, the whole thing can also be controlled SW+/- Trebel+/- volume, mute, it also has an optical output and the cable is also included and at this price. I can only recommend it.

Good sound for what I listen to (music, podcasts). I bought it because it has more inputs than competing products of the same type (2.1).
