Hello, I no longer have a free socket on my router, can I connect this amplifier wirelessly?

You cannot connect the Deco E4 directly to your router wirelessly to use it as an amplifier. Instead, you need to connect it to your router via an Ethernet cable to use it as an access point. If you don't have a free socket, you could use a switch to create additional connection options.

Hello Community I have pulled LAN cables, installed a server cabinet with modem and switch in the basement and would now like to connect 2 TP-Links (one per floor) to it in order to have a total of 1 WLAN. I would like to connect both TP-Links to my RJ45 sockets using LAN cables. I assume that I have to operate the TP-Links as access points, right? The TP-Link on the upper floor is in the bathroom. The power connection there can be switched on and off using a button. When I go to bed, I use it to switch off the WLAN on the upper floor. That's the reason why I want to connect both TP-Links to a LAN cable. The TP-Link on the lower floor can/should always radiate. What do you think, will my plan work with these TP-Links? Thank you for your valuable feedback!

Unfortunately, I can't give you any advice as I'm a layman in this field! I'm sorry, but I bought the parts on advice to want to boost the Internet in my son's flat from the cellar! It worked straight away without any major set-up! LG Andreas 😉

Is it also possible to connect each unit of the E4 to the router via LAN in a set, or only one? Background: Our router is in the basement and we have a LAN socket in each room. The WLAN stability would probably be greater if each E4 is "fed" separately than if one is at the edge of the range of the other. (The shape of the flat requires several WLAN locations).

The Deco units are identical, each has 2 x 100Mbit Ethernet, so I would not recommend this set because if the ISP delivers more than 100Mbit and the ISP's router can do Gbit Ethernet, this is the wrong product. The Deco routers can connect to each other via WLAN or LAN cable. So there is no problem if the router is in the basement, the signal is then sent via LAN to the first Deco router in the flat and this in turn will then pass on the Internet signal via WLAN to all the other Deco routers. I recommend this system here because it can do Gbit Ethernet: TP-Link Deco M4 AC1200 Dualband WLAN Mesh 3-pack If an even better system with WiFi 6 is desired, the Xiaomi AX3000 system could also be used, it is not much more expensive but much more future proof and can also manage up to 256 devices. Each of these Xiaomi mesh routers has 3 x Gbit switch and a WAN connection for the router. Up to 10 can be connected to a very large mesh network. Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 (2-Pack)

I bought this but Deco app recognizes it as E4R, what is the difference between E4 and E4R ?

Hello, we have received the answer from TP- Link, it is as follows: The Deco E4 represents sets of Deco E4R that have 2-3 Deco E4R (2-pack or 3-pack). They are the same product. The Deco App recognises the Deco units as Deco E4R because each individual unit is recognised.Practically, the set is called Deco E4 and each individual unit is recognised by the App with the name Deco E4R.
