Hello,
The device itself does not have a display. The display is shown on the TV or I have connected a projector. I can then use this to control the device.
Another tip when buying is to replace the batteries that are included so that the remote control works properly or better. My batteries were almost empty.
Otherwise the price/performance is very good.

The volume is quite normal. Medium rather, towards "quiet", but not disturbing. The very short USB cable (46 cm) for connecting to the computer is annoying.
To connect the DVD player, you will need an HDMI cable. This cable connects the player to your TV and enables the transmission of picture and sound. Optionally, you can also use a coaxial digital cable if your TV or an external sound system has a corresponding connection. A USB cable is not required unless you want to play files from a USB device.
Unfortunately, we have no experience of this ourselves. However, we recommend that you ask such a question as a discussion, as experience has shown that more customers respond there than to a single question.

Hi Hugmartin48,
Yes, under Playback you can select Random. This allows you to play back titles, chapters or tracks in random
random order. This player only supports FAT formatted USB devices (except exFAT). Some USB devices may not be compatible with this player.
Sony Europe
Hi,
no, the player has a region code printed on the back of the unit and only plays commercially available DVDs (playback only) that are marked with identical region codes. This system is used to protect copyright. No, all DVD players sold in Europe can only play DVDs with region code 2. There are providers who sell region code free devices, but that would be more worthwhile for Blu-Ray players.
This DVD player is Region2 only, I returned it. Unfortunately I couldn’t find an all zone dvd player through Galaxus (or the players are not well described).
Hi Jimbo
Checked sony.co.uk it says the following: "Play a wide variety of sources including: CD-R/RW, DVD+RW/+R/+R DL, DVD-RW/-R/-R DL, JPEG, mp3, MPEG-4 WMA, AAC, Linear PCM and Xvid."
So the unit can only do DVD and music.
Here are two (almost) comparable Bluray players:
Sony BDP-S1700 (Blu-Ray Player)
LG BP250 (Blu-Ray Player)
Both play DVD and Bluray discs, but not UHD content (4K Bluray).
Have fun watching movies
