Yes, correct, a piece of software is needed to establish a USB over Ethernet connection to the device. You rather need a print server - e.g. via Raspberry or a dedicated print server (see other post ;) ). LG
Yes, that works. I have just tested it with three different USB hubs. Please note that the maximum power that can be provided by the Silex DS-510 via USB is limited. So if you want to use many USB powered devices, you may need to use a USB hub with its own power supply. I have also found that not all USB devices (e.g. some wireless mice) work with the DS-510.

Hello Weyermaa DS-510 works fine for me: Connect Meteostation via USB to DS-510 / 510 to Access-Point (Wlan) Device . Device recognised, Meteostation data available without any problems. Greetings and good luck Roland
