Yes, that's right. I thought I'd use it to connect two monitors to my new Mac with Apple processor. I was pretty disappointed when I realised that this great Mac Book Pro only supports one monitor. Now I have connected my iPad to the computer via Sidecar and also to the second monitor. It's not ideal, but this way I can still use the second screen. The second HDMI port remains empty. ☹️

Good day Manufacturer's specifications: "Enjoy brilliant 4K 60Hz HDMI display extended across two monitors" and " Dual display not supported on Apple M1 Macs." So for the MacBook Air M1: Only 1 monitor with 4K 60Hz possible. Kind regards

Helpful answer

I can't say whether it works on a 2016 13" MBP. In principle, nothing speaks against it because two USB-C ports are needed. They are available.
