No, this is not a standard UHD display; it is a «Dual UHD» monitor with a resolution of 7680 x 2160 pixels, which is equivalent to two UHD (3840 x 2160) monitors side by side. This means it has twice the horizontal resolution of a typical UHD display, offering an ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio on a 57-inch curved screen. It is described as the world's first dual UHD monitor.
Hello, you must use either a DisplayPort 2.1 cable or an hdmi 2.1 cable and your computer must have a GPU capable of driving the 7680x2160 resolution. I have a MacBook Pro M3Max that does handle this, but no other Apple Silicon- nor Intel model does. If you’re a Windows user, you’ll need a pretty hefty Nvidia card to drive the screen at this resolution.
I’m not a gamer. I use it for productivity apps (Excel among them), photo editing, music production and video editing. It’s the best monitor I ever had. However, you must make sure that your GPU is powerful enough to drive it at full resolution, otherwise you might be better off buying a cheaper monitor, such as the Samsung 49” G9.
LogiLink BP0162 (table, 49")
According to research, this is the only one that is compatible and also holds the tilt.
I ordered it, but it hasn't arrived yet. I'll let you know when it arrives.
The Ergotron HX HD holds the weight but the tilt will always adjust itself. However, there is a workaround by clamping 2 screws into the bracket.
I don't know of any other mount that holds the new G9 57".
Yes, there are many options. All wall mounts that support VESA 100 x 100. Then you just have to make sure that the diameter and weight are right. For example:
One for All Solid WM4611 (wall, 90", 100 kg)
One for All Solid WM4661 (wall, 84", 60 kg)
No, apparently it only works via 1.4 Display Port and Nvidia has not implemented this. I have a Radeon AMD and it can do this. It also works with the high resolution.
Does Samsung also refuse to replace defective products in Switzerland? And what is Digitec's position on warranty cases?
This is about the following: https://youtu.be/6MKSSdb5VD0?si=BvUIKrySnpjQ70-O
Samsung is currently refusing to replace screens that have been broken due to poor construction (except in the USA). Cracked bio-screen. The question is whether Samsung has the same lousy support here and how Digitec will react as a result, since the manufacturer is already not taking any responsibility.
Users report that Samsung refuses even simple answers to non-warranty cases, such as the USB-Hun, under the motto "no support for your country, tough luck".
This makes Samsung look untrustworthy.
After a blue screen of death under windows 11, only the RGB lighting at the back was still burning. Monitor no longer responds. Plug out 5 min wait. Plug in -> dead, not even the control light came on. Unfortunately bought from Samsung and registered under their warranty. The Samsung employee kept babbling about 49 inches, I corrected him and after googling the monitor he knew there was something new. The shipping company that picked up the monster came with one man and an ordinary TV box. Because of the strong curvature, the monitor would have had to be broken. It's not like I mentioned 2 men because of the size and weight and that they should check whether their packaging would fit. The Samsung man said: No, don't bring your original packaging because of the insurance, but take the one from the shipping company. So I gave them the original packaging and helped the poor driver to carry it down, as the box is as big as a small coffin. Moral of the story: Only buy directly from Digitec, even if I got it from Samsung for 1799 as a fanboy. At Digitec I probably would have got a replacement directly. Well, I learned something again. Ashes on my head. Semper Fi Digitec
Hello,
For me, the reference specified on the Digitec website is not clear. It says "Ref. LS57CG954NUXEN; LS57CG952NUXEN" and that the screen is only compatible with "AMD Freesync Premium Pro". However, it should be noted that the model with the reference 954 (LS57CG954NUXEN) is "AMD Freesync Pro and Nvidia G-Sync" compatible, while the other reference 952 (LS57CG952NUXEN) is only "AMD Freesync Pro" compatible. So it would be nice if Digitec could specify which model we're talking about here.
I must admit that it would be nice if Digitec could offer the 954 LS57CG954NUXEN model, which is also Nvidia G-Sync compatible.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely
Hello !
I treated myself to this device and since the original DP cable from Samsung is too short, I continued to use my existing one, which I previously used on the 49" G9.
As long as the 57" runs at 5120x1440 pixels, up to 240Hz is also possible, but only with the setting "Displayportvers. 1.4" on the G9.
If I increase the resolution to 7680x2160, only 60Hz is available. When I select "Displayportvers. 2.1" my picture flickers.
Is my problem now the DP cable I am using which is running at/above the limit and is therefore apparently a "version 1.4" cable?
Which would be the right one for "2.1" if Digitec only sells "2.0" at most? Thank you for any answers/thoughts!
Merci & a relaxing Sunday to you all!
I've had it for six months now. First a total failure after less than a month. I got a replacement.
Today I wouldn't give up the monitor I've used so far. Absolutely brilliant space for working. No one has ever managed the split to two 4k monitors so well. Laptop and home PC. With the free software from MS for just one keyboard and mouse, it's brilliant for working. For gaming: I only have the MS flight simulator. Absolutely marvellous. For me, only a better, identical successor would come into question. Smaller would definitely not be an option.
Disadvantages: you have to spend the same amount again on the graphics card. Without a 4090 or the best AMD, you won't be able to play games in this resolution. Laptop up to 4k as half is possible with new models.
For graphic designers, the colour space is not quite top, there are better ones, but still very, very good!

We have this in operation with a 7900XTX at maximum resolution and with adaptive sync activated we achieve approx. 140 - 160fps or hz. 240 would certainly also be possible but then with a lot of losses in terms of graphics. However, this only works with Assetto Corsa and IRacing, both of which are not very graphics hungry. Newer games don't stand a chance with the high resolution at the moment. In my opinion, you can't tell the difference between 150 and 240 fps, but we only play racing games.
The display has Adaptive Sync, which is the general term for G-Sync and Freesync. Adaptive Sync works with most Nvidia graphics cards and all AMD graphics cards. However, the monitor is not a G-Sync monitor in the sense that it does not have a G-Sync module.
I can personally assure you that Adaptive Sync will certainly work from the RTX 3000 series onwards. It simply has to be activated manually in the Nvidia Control Panel.
There are reports that it did not work correctly with the first firmware. However, mine, with the latest firmware from the end of October, on an RTX 3080 via HDMI 2.1 (port 2), works correctly.
