The Rollei Compact Traveler Star S1 tripod is compatible with the Canon 100D. Here are the key points:
- The tripod is designed for digital cameras and camcorders with a maximum load capacity of up to 2 kg, which is well within the weight range of the Canon 100D.
- It comes with a quick release plate, making it easy to attach and detach your camera.
Therefore, you can use the Rollei Compact Traveler Star S1 tripod with your Canon 100D.
Nikons come in many sizes and weights. I have a COOLPIX P7800. It weighs 420 g. And the tripod above. It weighs 570 g. As long as I extend the tripod legs only 1x - and nothing else - the tripod is stable enough. Even for heavier cameras. As soon as I extend even the centre column, the stability decreases.
I didn't buy the tripod for my Coolpix, but to be able to take panorama shots with my smartphone on bicycle tours. It is perfectly light and handy for that.
You may not see it clearly in the pictures, but on top of the tripod head is a quick-release plate with a standard 1/4-inch screw that you can use to screw down any normal camera. The tripod head itself is NOT removable.
I own a Legria HFR 206, possibly a predecessor model of your camcorder. The attachment works perfectly here. You attach a small plate to the camcorder and use the threaded socket. This plate allows you to quickly fix or remove the camcorder from the tripod. The plate should be attached at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the camera. This makes it easy to change the battery.
Hello Silvan,
I'm glad you were satisfied, I'm not.
You probably have a smaller camera than I do (size? weight?).
I screwed my new Nikon D7500 incl. zoom 18-200mm on tightly, suddenly the camera together with the mounting plate fell on the stone floor and remained damaged.
Camera and zoom together weigh almost 1300 grams, which is quite a bit less than the stated payload of 2 kg.
I would urgently recommend Rollei to reduce the payload to 1 kg, because the wobbly tripod cannot take more!
Regarding your question, I would cut an aluminium sheet or a vegetable cutting board (very stable plastic) to the desired size.
to the desired size and buy a tripod screw.
Be careful not to use a normal screw because the thread is not metric.
