Hello, a "Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter" is installed, you can find the specs here: "https://www.qualcomm.com/products/qca6174a", according to which the adapter really "only" supports WiFi 5 / 802.11ac Wave 2 (and not WiFi 6 / Wi-Fi 6: 802.11ax).

Yes, I have the Laptop 13 and Surface 13. It works on both. 8-tung the charging cable needs min 60 watts. Short and sweet Yes and Yes
I think that external SSDs should never have incompatibility with docking stations. If there is a problem between the external hard drive and one or more docking stations the problem should not be with the docking station. You should check using a USB key. If it is recognised and the hard drive is not, the problem is with the hard drive (insufficient USB power supply perhaps?). Which docking stations have you used so far? with or without power supply?
