You can enter up to three licence codes, for each one entered the term is then extended by one year. Or enter a code every 364th day. If you do not do this, the subscription expires and the functionality of the software is restricted.

Hello, the licence is valid for one year from the date of expiry of the existing licence, you can either activate the new licence a few days before or on the date of expiry.
I always buy a special offer and then activate on expiry.

Effectively only the delivery method.
Retail = Delivery of the licence key with packaging and dispatch via post.
Download = Delivery of the licence key via email or user account.
However, both versions must be downloaded for installation.

I suspect it's less about surveillance and more about proof of legal capacity (because it is a subscription after all) = being of age is obligatory.

My current subscription ran until 3 months from now. I have now bought 2 annual licences from Digitec and entered them in my MS account. Now the subscription runs until 2 years and 3 months.

Normally it is. Perhaps Digitec is still sitting on huge quantities of retail copies and would like to sell them before the price of the download version is adjusted again.

We agree that this is illogical, that a physical product is cheaper. However, it is the case that we have higher purchasing conditions for the ESD version and this is reflected in the sales price.

I have since noticed that other identity cards are also accepted. But still, why do you need an age check here when ordering an Office 365? I really don't understand.

Quoting Microsoft:
When you add a Microsoft 365 subscription to an account that already has a Microsoft 365 subscription, any remaining time from your current subscription is added to the new term. So for example, if you have 6 months remaining on your current Microsoft 365 Family subscription and you add a new Microsoft 365 Family annual subscription to your account, we will extend it to 18 months.
If you try to add too many subscriptions to the same account at the same time, an error message will tell you that the redemption has failed. This is because the maximum duration of 5 years must not be exceeded.
Each participant has its own 1 TB of storage. In order for another participant to access this, it must be shared with the other participant.
Yes - with Android, iOS and Windows, pretty much all the tablets I know are covered.

It sounds very much the same to me; simply that MS talks about 6 users. I have this product in use, but I do not use the 1 TB storage. The product can be installed on any number of computers. However, only a maximum of 5 users can work with it at the same time. I have all the applications at my disposal.
I also had the problem, this online portal for the keys seems to have some kind of problems with some e-mail addresses. I have already contacted Techdata who are responsible for the portal and never got an answer. But you can write an email to Digitec or call them, they can send you the key or the activation link to another email address. If that doesn't arrive either, they can give you a credit note and then you buy the box version.

With both versions you have 6 licences. The difference is that with Fr. 89.- you receive the Office activation code by post and with Fr. 77.- you receive the Office activation code by e-mail. I recommend the activation code by mail.

Here is the official explanation when I manage my Office 365:
"You and up to 5 other people receive:
- Each person using this subscription can install Office on all their devices and sign in to a maximum of 5 at any one time."
So 6 licences.
From the Microsoft website about this product: "Includes premium Office applications for up to 6 users on PC or Mac".
In my case, the update was only calculated from the expiry of the subscription.
