No, it's a bit different. What I call the 'comb', the little piece in the bottom left of the photo, is used to align the four pairs of wires. You push them through and then cut them flush. Once aligned and trimmed, the assembly is threaded into the head of the RJ45, pressed down firmly and nothing comes out. Using the pliers provided, crimp everything tightly, then test.

Installation cables are usually much thicker. This plug only fits on patch cables. It is best to lay the installation cable on a socket and then connect the devices with patch hubs.
