The thing gave up the ghost so quickly that I could only use it for a short time. If it had been from Temu, I would have understood. So it will remain a mystery forever
Yes, that's normal, the enclosures are designed in such a way that they dissipate the heat generated inside via the enclosure itself, because there are no active fans installed in such docking solutions.
I'm pretty sure it should work, but I can't guarantee it completely. I've certainly tested it on the Dell XPS, the Lenovo X1 and also on Samsung S-series smartphones, and it works everywhere, as well as on MacBooks.
Did I understand that correctly? You want to connect the Doc to the USB-C port of the Xbox and use it to charge your mobile phone and connect your controllers?
If so, that should be possible.
The USB-C is mainly for data transfer, but you can also use it to power a notebook ;-)
How else would you use all the connections like USB, HDMI, LAN, etc)?

Seems to be normal, at least mine (there are several in use) also feel hot. Felt, because our hands already feel 37 degrees as very warm and somewhere above 45 degrees as hot.
I suspect that would not work with this extension cable. Generally, Thunderbolt cables have active components in the connector. But for an extension, a cable like Sir_Cirion mentions is probably also sufficient.
So info on the differences I can mention https://www.heise.de/tipps-tricks/Thunderbolt-und-USB-C-Wo-liegt-der-Unterschied-4662253.html
In c't issue 16/2021 from page 90 there is an extensive and good article on this topic.
Hello,
Can you please contact our Technical support? Our e-mail address is support@itecproduct.com
Please note that manufacturers of wireless devices very often recommend connecting the dongle directly to the laptop.

On the i-tec website you can find current driver packages for Windows, Mac and Linux as well as a firmware update. With these drivers, the dock seems to run a bit more stable on Windows. Link: https://i-tec.pro/de/produkt/c31nanodocklanpd-3/
Hello Together
The dock is working great with all ports loaded, but I have noticed a problem. Both the HDMI Switch equip 332723 and the Delock Switch 2in-1Out do not work with this dock. When these are connected to the dock, no signal comes through, but when I connect my display directly to the dock it works without any problems. However, when I connect the HDMI switch directly to my Yoga 370, it works without any problems. I have my laptop connected to a display and a TV and want to switch between them as needed. I have connected the dock to the laptop via a USB-C extension cable so that I can continue to use it as a convertible alongside the display. However, when I have the HDMI cable connected to the laptop in addition to the dock, it becomes extremely awkward.
What is the problem and (if it can't be fixed) is there a dock with similar connections and price where these switches would work?
Hallo,

Hello,
The laptop's TB3 ports, both, do support the PowerDelivery feature. So there should not be any problem with simultaneously charging the laptop and using all the other ports on the docking station.
Best regards

I have connected an external monitor 3440x1440 via HDMI. Also Ethernet and 2 USB wireless devices. As soon as HDMI is connected, the wireless keyboard no longer works and the wireless headset does not work reliably. If these two USB devices are connected directly to the laptop, no more problems. HDMI directly on the device also solves the problem. Unfortunately, when everything is connected to the i-tec USB-C Metal 4K Dock, it doesn't. Hardly in the spirit of the inventor?
Any idea how this can be fixed? Otherwise, the part would not be usable for me.
