I have the Zyxel AX-7501. I want to use my Pi-hole as DNS, but unfortunately the manual configuration of DNS is disabled in the DHCP settings (/HomeNetworking/DHCP-DNS Values), only DNS Proxy or ISP Values are available. It annoys me to have to use a 3rd party DHCP while it is supported on the router with a non restricted firmware. Any chance to have this setting made available to us soon ?

My OTO socket is (unfortunately) located in the fuse and distribution box in my flat. There are only RJ45 sockets in the rooms, which have to be patched accordingly in the box. I would therefore have to place the Zyxel router in the fuse and distribution box. The WLAN signal would therefore probably be correspondingly weak. Is there also a kind of "WLAN box" for the router (as with the competition)? Or how do I solve this WLAN problem? Thank you in advance for your expertise and assessment.

I was able to do a search and we do not have a "dedicated" range extender, however the following product can be used. This model connects wirelessly to the router or can be used as an access point with the LAN connection. TP-Link RE900XD Wi-Fi 6 WLAN Repeater AX6000, 4804 Mbit/s, 1148 Mbit/s

You mentioned in your original post, that you will offer lower speeds around summer (1 Gbps, 5 Gbps). 1) Will it be possible to downgrade in case someone buys now the 10 Gbps? 2) How easy will this process be? I imagine that since there is no minimum period, this should happen immediately by the end of the month without any further complications. Is this correct? 3) Any ideas on the pricing for the lower speeds? 4) Other routers also possible in the future? Thanks!

Galaxus Internet HFC (1 Gbit/s) runs via the cable network (coax / HFC) and not via fibre optics. Your Zürinet fibre optic connection can therefore not be used for this. For fibre optics, you need a corresponding FTTH (fibre) offer, not HFC.

Is it possible to operate the router in modem mode? By modem mode I mean: no actual router operation, but only as a modem so that the connected device is "directly" connected to the Internet. This is necessary to operate my current router with port forwarding for certain devices.

This depends heavily on the setting used, but we have received feedback from 1 to 10 Gbits, most in the 3-8 Gbits range.

Which connection is normally used to bring the Galaxus Internet signal into the flat or house? I’ve noticed that there’s only one coaxial cable socket on the router. Is that correct, or is it possible to connect it to a TT83 socket using an RJ45/RJ11 plug? Depending on the answer, I might otherwise have to cancel my Galaxus plan. Thanks for your help.

The signal from Galaxus Internet usually enters the home via a coaxial cable connection (TV socket), as the HFC network uses a coaxial cable from the distribution box onwards. Is that correct, or is it possible to connect it to a TT83 socket via an RJ45/RJ11 plug? It is not possible to connect this coaxial socket directly to a TT83 (telephone) or RJ45 (Ethernet) socket, as coaxial cables and telephone/Ethernet use different signal types and connector types; the small component visible on the coaxial cable is a terminating resistor, which you can remove and connect to the router using a short coaxial cable. Otherwise, depending on the situation, I’d have to cancel my Galaxus plan. Thanks for your help. You do not need to cancel your plan if you have the wrong connection, as the Galaxus HFC plan is specifically designed for coaxial connections (Sunrise network) and is not a telephone or fibre-optic connection. 7 months ago there was a plan to rollout the option of setting custom (Iocal) DNS server on the router with the 10Gbit/s plan, supposedly in the final phases. Has this now been rolled out or not yet?

Hello everyone, I am considering activating the Galaxy Fiber 10 Gbps offer from Digitec/Galaxus (CHF 39 per month) and would like to use my FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS as my main router. Before proceeding with the activation, I would like to know whether the modem supplied by Galaxy allows Bridge mode (or IP Passthrough) to be activated. Has anyone already activated this offer and can confirm whether it is possible to bridge their modem? Or is it blocked as it is with Yallo? Thank you very much in advance!
