I have both. They are very similar (https://www.digitec.ch/de/Comparison/5805403-10036151) and I am very satisfied with both. The U2717D makes a more stable impression in terms of the housing. But I would still go for the newer U2719D.
Hello Anonymous
Basically you can use any 24" monitor. The basic requirement is that your computer or laptop has two video connections (supported). With a laptop, this can be done via a docking station.
I would recommend this monitor: Dell P2419H (24", 1920 x 1080 Pixels) . It is height-adjustable and can be adapted wonderfully to the 27". This monitor also looks quite similar.
Greetings John
I assume you mean VGA (computer) to HDMI (monitor).
As this monitor has no analogue interfaces, you need an active adapter:
Delock VGA to (HDMI, 25cm)
The USB port is essential, as it supplies the adapter with power.
But don't expect miracles, VGA is not made for high resolutions and the adapter supports FHD (1920*1080) at most.
Hello..
According to the manufacturer, the scope of delivery includes the following:
- Power cable
- USB 3.0 upstream cable
- DisplayPort cable
Greetings
Yes, this is possible. You can use a miniDP to DP cable directly for this. For example, the following product: Lindy Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort (3m, Entry)
No, no integrated speakers. You can connect your speakers via the 3.5mm jack or one of the USB-A ports (no Micro USB, but there are adapters for this).
Yes, it is suitable for this. I usually use it via HDMI on the Apple TV in the guest room for Netflix & Co. It also works perfectly on the laptop/Macbook.
Screens with two DP connections usually have 1 x input and 1 x output (for so-called daisy chain). This is also confirmed in the operating instructions: https://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_electronics_accessories/esuprt_electronics_accessories_monitors/dell-u2719d-monitor_User%27s-Guide_de-de.pdf Page 11
So I did a little googling and came across this:
One port is a normal Displayport 1.4, but the other one is a Displayport 1.4 MST (means: Multi Stream Transport) Info from here: https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/2bb31592
I didn't know what MST meant either, so I did some research and found this: https://www.computerwoche.de/a/mehrere-monitore-perfekt-nutzen-so-geht-s,3331432,2
Quote:
"These monitors have a display port input and output. The first monitor is connected directly to the notebook or PC, the second monitor is connected to the output of the first. ... MST now allows the computer to drive the additional monitors as separate displays."
So you can connect two or more monitors to a computer with one cable. What is not quite clear to me is where you would use something like this, a laptop usually does not have a display port and a normal PC usually has several outputs.
I hope I was able to help, have fun ;)
Hi, with the monitor, this will only work with some USB C to HDMI/DP adapters. (There is always a certain risk of incompatibility).
The monitor only has a USB 3.0 hub built in.
At best, you could take a look at this monitor Dell U2719DC (27", 2560 x 1440 Pixels) Unfortunately a bit expensive, but with USB C connection.
Hello
No, there are no integrated speakers. However, you can connect speakers or headphones to the 3.5 mm jack output.
There is also a matching soundbar available as an accessory to mount under the screen.
