I can only say that I am very satisfied with the lens. Technically, there is no difference between CH and EU.

Can this lens also be used with the Canon EOS 600 D. The lens is for cameras with an APS sensor. I have not read this anywhere for the EOS 600D. Many thanks

Is it worth it as an upgrade from the 18-55 f/4-5.6 that came as a kit lens with my EOS 200D - and which I think allows too little depth of field?

Yes, maybe ... The larger the aperture (i.e. the smaller the number) the more depth of field is possible. Depending on the use (e.g. potraits), one could recommend switching to a slightly longer focal length - but here "more light" quickly becomes very expensive.
