No, upc does not allow any other devices than their own boxes. For specific upc questions, https://community.upc.ch/ would also be recommended.
If it's just about more WLAN power, a pure WLAN AccessPoint can be cheaper. I operate the ConnectBox in bridge mode and have changed from the old 7390 to the 6591 for performance reasons, which also works so far. Unfortunately, I still have to run the DECT phones via the 7390 because UPC does not allow the direct cable modem connection. They have it better in Germany, where the router obligation was banned.
No. upc does not allow anything other than their own Connect and Giga boxes. The only alternative if you want a Fritzbox is to set the upc box in modem/bridge mode and operate a Fritzbox behind it that is connected via a WAN connection.
No, but the "5490 Fiber" . item 5701342
Good morning🤗. In principle, your plan is possible, especially since the Fritz 6591 is not called "the Tower of Power" for nothing. I have exactly this combination at home. However, you must bear in mind that the 6591 only works in the brigde mode of the UPC modem, because CC does not give out the SiP data. Mfg
I strongly suspect that you cannot connect the 6591 directly to the Thurnet. Their FAQ says that they supply a cable modem. I had a similar situation with cablecom and solved it as follows. Set the cablecom router to modem mode and connect the FB as a router behind it. Works flawlessly in terms of speed.
