Proto-Pasta High Temp PLA 2.0v 2.85mm - Silver Smoke
Proto-Pasta filament is developed and produced in the USA. The American company Protoplant stands behind Proto-Pasta. This more stable PLA prints with ease and has a maximum heat deflection temperature (HDT) of up to 140 °C, depending on post-processing. This means your parts will have greater stiffness and dimensional stability at higher temperatures (no warping on your sunny dashboard).
For maximum dimensional stability, your prints need to be heat-treated, which means they must be crystallized. This is best done in an oven until you see a change from translucent to opaque. It is recommended to leave the support structures on the printed parts during this treatment and to place them on non-conductive surfaces (such as glass, ceramics, or composites). Allow the parts to cool in the oven to minimize any potential warping.
The prints can also be baked at a lower temperature, but for a longer time, with less risk of unwanted deformation. However, the temperature must always be above 60 °C for any (visual) change to occur. Proto-Pasta High Temp PLA v2.0 contains no abrasive fillers, which means there is no increased wear on standard nozzles. A heated print bed is not required.
Some shrinkage or distortion may occur during the cooling process. Larger parts or dimensions of critical components must therefore be compensated for (scaled up). Proto-Pasta High Temp PLA v2.0 mm is very easy to print and is compatible with most printers that can print PLA.
