Instead of unplugging devices, simply press the button on the KVM switch. You can then access the same external USB devices, up to four in total, using either computer 1 or 2. This saves time and protects the ports. It's particularly useful in an office or home office setting where two users with their own PCs or laptops want to share the same peripherals. The LEDs indicate which output is currently active (computer 1 or 2). With USB 3.2 Gen1, you benefit from speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s.
