RF Interference
The AC7 Shield's housing is made from a material that effectively prevents signal degradation of the FlexTT5 antenna due to RF interference (EMI). To block noise from the connections in the hot shoe, an electronic filter has been integrated into the AC7's hot shoe. Thanks to the AC7 Shield, the FlexTT5 can receive signals from 300 to 500% further than before, making it suitable for most off-camera lighting needs.

For photographers looking to utilize the unique capabilities of the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 radio triggers with Canon 580EX, 580EX II, and 430EX flash units, the AC7 Shield provides a solution for workspaces that correspond to off-camera flash photography. All other Canon flash units, including the 600EX-RT, emit relatively low EMI and work well with the FlexTT5 without shielding.

When used with an umbrella, the flat design of the AC7 positions the flash more prominently than usual, creating a symmetrical light shape for incredibly even light distribution. Most common diffusers, grids, snoots, and reflectors can also be used with the AC7 Shield.
