Zwar kann das Pentax in der kurzen Stellung nicht ganz überzeugen und kämpft hier mit dem Kontrast aber dafür ist das preisgünstige Objektiv leicht und somit auch sehr gut bedienbar. Zudem kann sich die Ausstattung mit einem Bildstabilisator mehr als sehen lassen.
Die Abbildungsleistung des Objektivs ist über den gesamten Arbeitsbereich recht solide und auch an der Ausstattung gibt es kaum etwas zu bemängeln. So ist der Streulichtschutz ebenso gut wie auch die tadellose Verarbeitung sowie der der Schutz gegen Spritzwasser.
Das solide verarbeitete Pentax ist dank seiner 6 Dichtungen gegen Szaub, Wasser und Schmutz bestens geschützt und somit auch für Schlechtwetter-Tage bestens geeignet. Um die besten Auflösungsergebnisse zu erzielen, muss 1-2 Stufen abgeblendet werden.
