Product details
Waterproof digital Brix sugar refractometer for determining sugar content. Measurement parameters: Brix, refractive index, 0.50% Brix, 1.3330 - 1.4200 nD, with temperature compensation.
The easiest way to determine how much sugar is present in a liquid is by using a digital Brix sugar refractometer. The digital Brix sugar refractometer from PCE Instruments is a handheld device specifically designed for precise analysis of sugary solutions. This allows the user to easily conduct quality control and check the sugar concentration in a liquid with the help of the Brix sugar refractometer.
The Brix unit of measurement is primarily used in the fruit industry and determines the relative density of liquids. The Brix sugar refractometer is a precision measuring device that relies on measuring the refractive index of a liquid, ensuring the highest reliability even under difficult measuring conditions. With just a small sample size, the user can measure the sugar content in a liquid using the Brix refractometer. To obtain a meaningful result, it is sufficient to place four to five drops into the funnel-shaped stainless steel well of the device. A prism is embedded in the sample well, and the sugar content is measured through light refraction.
The internal light source also allows for measurements under artificial lighting conditions. Artificial light can quickly cause measurement errors when using an analog Brix sugar refractometer. The ambient temperature has a significant impact on the measurement result. The temperature influence during use is internally compensated by the Brix sugar refractometer. The measurement result is quickly and accurately displayed on the large, easy-to-read LC display of the Brix sugar refractometer after this automatic temperature compensation (10 to 40 °C).
