An OLED viewfinder combined with a fully tiltable touchscreen makes composing images from unusual angles easier. For videographers, it offers 4K 30p without time limits, Full HD slow motion and time-lapse, microphone and headphone jacks, and Vlog-L recording. The Lumix G97 only has a few new features compared to the G91 from 2019. Nevertheless, it offers attractive functions such as the integrated image stabiliser. The 4K photo functions, which Panasonic has omitted from newer cameras, can still be found here. The fact that the camera is no longer quite up to date can be seen in the autofocus, which is not capable of phase detection, and the not very fast...
The Lumix G97 sits comfortably in the hand and is easy to use. Rare in this price range: the camera and housing can easily cope with a bit of wind or rain. The pictures taken by the Lumix G97 are really good, whether photos or videos - and better than its predecessor, the Lumix G91...

The Lumix G97 leaves a mixed impression when tested. On the one hand, like its predecessor, it offers great value for money, but on the other hand you can tell in some places that the underlying technology is getting on in years: for example, the autofocus only recognises human faces and 4K is limited to 30p with crop...
