The second edition of the M. Zuiko 2.8/12-40 mm ED PRO II shows an improved optical performance in all measured settings. The slightly lower resolution at 12 mm and the drop in contrast at the edges at 40 mm do cloud the positive impression. But apart from that, the lens pleases with a more even performance across the image height and a lower edge fall-off as well as less vignetting at an aperture of F2.8.
