Product details
The Netgear ProSafe GS728TP with 24 ports is the ideal partner for small and medium-sized businesses looking for a reliable system. Its high data throughput of up to 56 Gbps enables demanding applications such as data replication or backup, virtualization, video on demand, and transaction processing with large data volumes without bottlenecks.
Thanks to its complete Layer 2 features, the GS728TP is efficient, secure, and future-ready. Static routing, for example, allows for network segmentation, with the switch handling the routing itself—only traffic that should not remain within the internal network is left for the actual router. This makes the entire network more efficient.
Dynamic VLAN assignment enhances security by enforcing a consistent policy and user access rights across the entire network, regardless of where the user connects. Support for MLD Snooping makes the network more efficient by ensuring that multicast traffic is only forwarded to designated stations, rather than flooding all ports with multicast packets. The switch also offers full IPv6 support, comprehensive security, and advanced multicast management.
With Power over Ethernet, you can power compatible devices through the network cable. This significantly reduces cabling efforts for end devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and IP cameras, while also providing high flexibility in the placement of these devices.
The IEEE 802.3at standard provides a maximum of 25.4 watts of power on each PoE+ port with a voltage of up to 50 volts. The standard assumes that after line losses, 21.90 watts of usable power remains or can be drawn to avoid exceeding the maximum power output. For PoE+, a Cat5e/6 cable is recommended.
