In complete or very low darkness of around 3 to 5 Lux (for comparison: street lighting provides about 10 Lux), it is worthwhile – especially for applications that require high image resolution and intelligent analysis functions such as MxActivitySensor or external license plate recognition – to use the new, cost-effective, and long-lasting MxIRLight infrared illuminators with energy-saving LED technology (max. 19 W, PoE+ standard). Unlike conventional white light illuminators, the light from the MxIRLight illuminators is generated in an infrared wavelength range of 860 nm, which is excellently captured by a MOBOTIX camera with a black-and-white image sensor, but can only be perceived by the human eye as a red glow at the illuminator itself. Note: The combination of color sensor and MxIRLight does not cause any image alteration, as this sensor is equipped with an IR cut filter for maximum image quality during the day.
