Hydra motor capacitors with overpressure cut-off MKP-Si technology Series 500 Safety: Capacitors can fail under extreme operating conditions or after reaching the end of their service life. Hydra motor capacitors are manufactured with a built-in overpressure cut-off switch. In the event of destruction, a pressure increase occurs in the capacitor due to gas formation and temperature rise. This causes an extension of the housing of up to 9 mm by stretching the folding bead and thus an interruption of the supply line at the predetermined breaking point. The capacitor is safely disconnected from the mains. Hydra capacitors are certified by the VDE Testing and Certification Institute and meet the requirements of safety class P2 according to EN 60252. Installation: Hydra motor capacitors can be mounted vertically or horizontally. To ensure proper triggering of the overpressure breakaway protection due to the linear expansion of the capacitor housing, a minimum distance of approx. 12 mm from the connection to adjacent components must be observed. Construction: Metallized polypropylene aluminum housing with/without metal studs environmentally friendly filling agent (vegetable oil).
