Product details

Here comes the latest invention from Mindsensors: PiStorms is a robot controller that is 100% compatible with Raspberry Pi and Lego Mindstorms. It connects easily like a shield to the GPIO mapping of your Raspberry Pi (A+, B+ or 2 B) and offers two separate connection areas for your Lego NXT or EV3 creation.

On one side, there are 4 motor interfaces, and on the other side, there are 4 interfaces for sensors, with each of these two zones having a separate I2C address.

PiStorms provides access to a comprehensive code library for super precise control of your motors and for reading the data collected by your sensors.

The power supply for your PiStorms also powers your Raspberry Pi. The controller has a switch to establish contact with the Raspberry Pi.

By pressing this button for 10 seconds, the programming interface can also be turned off. Additionally, PiStorms is equipped with a 2.4" LCD touchscreen and an LED, which can be accessed during programming through the motor or sensor zone.

On paper, the PiStorms Starter Kit is somewhat similar to the Base Kit. The difference is exactly 8 GB. This Starter Kit includes, in addition to the Lego structure and your PiStorms, an 8 GB SD memory card where you can store images and videos that can be displayed on your LCD screen.

This way, your Raspberry Pi Mindstorms creation can become an advertising robot or messenger, or simply a robot with its own face.

Note: Raspberry Pi 3 is not included.
