MEW / Marx-Engels-Werke Band 44

In the autumn of 1867, nearly 150 years ago, Karl Marx wrote the "Bible of the Working Class," as Friedrich Engels referred to "Das Kapital" in the preface to the English edition. Just in time for the 150th anniversary of the first edition of the first volume of "Das Kapital," Volume 44 of the Marx-Engels Works will be published in the summer of 2017. This means that within the MEW, the 23-part economic manuscript from 1861 to 1863, often referred to as the second draft of "Das Kapital," will now be fully available (in volumes 26.1-3, 43, and 44). Together with the manuscript from 1857/58 ("Grundrisse der Kritik der politischen Ökonomie"), which has already been newly edited in Volume 42 based on the MEGA, the most important manuscripts leading up to the first volume of "Das Kapital" will thus be available in the study edition.
