Product details
Maertz PVA-HT is a solution for users who want to print water-soluble support material in combination with ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Copolymer). This specially modified filament is suitable for printing at higher temperatures and in combination with styrene-based plastics such as ABS and ASA. At the same time, it can be washed out in a regular water bath. The wastewater can be disposed of in the normal drain as long as it is connected to a sewage treatment plant. Maertz filaments come standard on fully recyclable cardboard spools. Unlike plastic spools, these spools can be easily disposed of in paper recycling. The material solves the problem of support materials for engineering plastics and can also be used at higher printing temperatures of the primary material. Maertz PVA and PVA-HT differ in their chemical composition, which is mainly noticeable in the printing temperature. PVA-HT can be printed at significantly higher temperatures and has been optimized for adhesion to styrene-based plastics like ABS and ASA. In contrast, Maertz PVA is a standard PVA recommended for PLA, PETG, and Nylon. At higher temperatures, standard PVA carbonizes. Additionally, standard PVA does not adhere optimally to printed structures made of ABS or ASA. Maertz PVA-HT is designed for use with styrene-based filaments, which are predominantly used in functional components and technical environments. The PVA-HT material is therefore suitable for all parts that have a function but also exhibit complex geometries. PVA-HT ensures that these components can be realized without scars or traces. This material is particularly used in engineering fields such as robotics, the automotive industry, and mechanical engineering. Private users also utilize Maertz PVA-HT in model making, for fixtures, and for tool making.
