Product details

The Luxonis DepthAI Boards combine stereo and RGB cameras with the Intel® Movidius™ Myriad™ X platform. This results in a small board that can be operated either stand-alone or with an additional device, such as an NVIDIA Xavier Jetson or Raspberry Pi. Due to the highly performant Intel uC with a base clock of 700 MHz, this small and compact development board can compute approximately 4.5 million possibilities in under one second.

What is the concept behind the Luxonis Boards?

The manufacturer aims to create a versatile platform with an extremely small form factor, based on which anyone can execute a basic script in under 30 seconds. The development platforms are available in different configurations, such as with Wi-Fi or a Raspberry Pi Compute Module. If the initial tests are promising, Luxonis also offers bare PCBs that can be integrated as OEM into a third-party component.

What is DepthAI?

Each Luxonis development board features the so-called DepthAI firmware, which inherently provides the following functionalities:

  • Neural inference (e.g., object detection, image classification, etc., including two-stage)
  • Stereo depth (including median filtering)
  • 3D object localization (supplementing 2D object detectors with 3D position in meters)
  • Object tracking (also in 3D space)
  • H.264 and H.265 encoding (HEVC, 1080p & 4K video)
  • JPEG encoding
  • MJPEG encoding
  • Warp/Unwarp

Technical specifications:

  • 2 x Stereo camera with 1280 x 720 Px
  • 1 x 4K RGB camera with 4056 x 3040 Px
  • Intel® Movidius™ Myriad™ X platform
  • Intel base clock: 700 MHz
  • Intel lithography: 16 nm
