The Lindy 200m Fibre Optic USB 2.0 Extender supports significantly greater distances than conventional copper cables. It is a hardware solution consisting of two components: a transmitter that connects to the computer and a receiver for connecting peripheral devices. The transmitter and receiver are linked with a multimode simplex fiber optic cable featuring an LC connector. The compact housing dimensions allow for flexibility in installation, and the fiber optic cable prevents interference from electromagnetic disturbances.

This extender enables access to a variety of USB devices such as keyboards and mice, printers, scanners, webcams, audio devices, or storage media from a considerable distance, making it ideal for remote desktop connections, industrial control, monitoring, and external storage applications. By connecting a USB hub to the receiver, additional USB devices can be operated. A power supply is included in the package for powering devices with high power requirements.
