It simply needs to be plugged into a power outlet, and your compatible ThinkPad laptop will be powered up. ThinkPad power adapters are extremely compact and portable, making them the ideal choice for business travelers and others who are frequently on the go. The adapters are energy-efficient, rated with Energy Star V (ES 2.0), and are backed by an official one-year warranty from Lenovo. They have the same specifications as the standard power adapter included with ThinkPad laptops. The 170W adapter is only compatible with ThinkPad laptops that feature the common rectangular Slim Tip connector. It cannot be used with ThinkPad laptops developed before 2013 that have the round power connector.
