Kowa Prominar 8.5mm F2.8 MFT

The manual super wide-angle lens "Kowa Prominar 8.5mm F2.8" has a field of view of 106 degrees. This significantly reduces distortion to a value of only 0.12%. By utilizing Kowa's legendary XD lenses, chromatic aberration is minimized to an almost imperceptible level.

The optical ideology and technology, which have been developed over more than 60 years, are now revived in the Kowa Micro Four Thirds lenses that bear the legendary name Prominar.

The lens features two aperture modes: one with clicks for photography applications and one without clicks for video applications. Switching between these two options is very simple. The aperture mechanism consists of nine elements, resulting in a circular opening at all aperture settings, which creates a natural look in the images. The housing is made of high-quality aluminum, providing a premium feel during use. The use of a floating element effectively prevents malfunctions, which increases the lens's lifespan. A very high optical performance is achieved at all subject distances.
