Product details
The Master Gateway TWO supports WLAN, Ethernet, and ZigBee communication and is the core device of the KnockautX wireless network. Various devices are added to the network through the gateway to enable their communication.
The Smart Home Hub connects to the 2.4 GHz router via WLAN or a network cable to establish communication with the cloud and the KnockautX app. Users can add, reset, and control devices through the gateway. The Master Gateway TWO is the central element for creating, coordinating, and executing automations with KnockautX products.
The internet connection can be made either via a direct connection to the router (LAN) or via WLAN. The advantage of the LAN connection is that the gateway can be connected to any other router at any time without requiring configurations. The benefit of connecting to the internet via WLAN lies in the router's location independence, as no physical connection to the router is needed.
The connection of KnockautX devices to the smart hub is intentionally made exclusively via ZigBee wireless. A direct connection of devices via WLAN is deliberately avoided, as this would always require comprehensive WLAN coverage for system stability and range. Since every ZigBee device connected to power also acts as a repeater (signal booster) and there are also specially designed small USB repeater sticks available, networking via ZigBee mesh network is a better choice than pure WLAN connectivity. When changing routers or locations, the gateway is simply reconnected at the new site, and all devices are immediately reconnected and ready for use.
