The JVC DLA-NP5 storms into our reference class with outstanding HDR performance, excellent colour reproduction and a comprehensive equipment package. Compared to the significantly more expensive 8K laser light models, the differences in picture quality are much smaller than the price ranges would suggest.
With the Sony, the modern laser light source comes at the expense of comfort and flexible set-up. The lack of motorisation and the reduced focal length range of the optics may unnecessarily limit some cineastes who rightly expect more in this price range. The lack of an ultra-fast HDMI interface, however, will probably only deter hardcore gamers...
