Alternatively, resistances up to 10 kO, voltages up to 50 mV and currents up to 20 mA can be measured using an external shunt. Customer-specific linearisation is possible. The measured values are transmitted wirelessly to the receiver of the Wtrans measuring system. The measured values are displayed on the receiver and are available in digital form on the RS485 interface and as analogue outputs. Various alarms can optionally be signalled with two relay outputs. This head transmitter, designed for industrial use, consists of the transmitter with integrated transmitter unit and an antenna-battery housing. The transmitter is designed for installation in form B connection heads and operates in an ambient temperature range of -30 to 85 °C. Installation in customised connection heads is possible. The antenna-battery housing is connected to the connection head via a screw connection (M20×1.5). The transmission frequency of the Wtrans measuring system is 868.4 MHz. This frequency is largely insensitive to external interference and allows transmission even in harsh industrial environments. If the antenna wall bracket with the 3 m long antenna cable is used on the receiver side, the range in free field is 300 m. A 3.6 V, 2.2 Ah lithium battery (AA size) is used to power the head transmitter. A setup program is available as an accessory for easy configuration and parameterisation of the head transmitter and Wtrans receiver on the PC.
