The new Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus and 270K Plus provide a little more performance with more cores, especially the Ultra 7. Both CPUs deliver a high speed in everyday use and creative applications, but there are no real leaps forward. Therefore: If you own a 245K or 265K, you don't need the new CPUs. However, if you are considering buying an "Arrow Lake" CPU, you should go for the new models.

The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus from Intel's Arrow Lake refresh delivers a good overall package. It is particularly interesting for gamers who also value high performance in applications outside of gaming. However, Intel does not yet have an answer to AMD's gaming powerhouse in the form of the X3D processors - this will only be the case with the Nova Lake CPUs at the end of 2026 or in 2027 at the earliest.
