InLine SAS Cable OCR

The cable whip offered here is needed to connect SATA drives to specific RAID controller cards. Often, the expansion cards have one or more sockets for SFF8087 type connectors, also known as Mini-SAS. The advantage of this interface is that electrical signals from up to four SATA (6G) hard drives or SSDs can be transmitted over this single connection. There is often not enough space on the circuit boards of the RAID controller cards to integrate as many SATA ports as can be controlled by the controller. It is essential to note that this is a cable suitable for OCR transmission mode (reverse / straight through). Depending on the application, similarly looking cables with OCF mode may also be required (reverse). Both modes are not compatible with each other. Depending on the existing devices, you may instead need cable 27610 with twisted pinout (forward, OCF). Please check with the respective device manufacturers in advance. A functioning connection will only be established when the correct pinout is used. Normal usage: SAS controller to SATA drives corresponds to forward breakout, SATA controller to SAS backplane corresponds to reverse breakout.
