Ilford Multigrade Filters

Ilford Multigrade Filters are a fantastic addition to any darkroom. With 12 evenly distributed, speed-adjusted gradations, they allow for easy contrast control for all variable contrast papers and enable printing a wide range of negative types.

Multigrade Filters are numbered in ½ steps from 00 to 5, with the lowest filter number corresponding to the softest contrast. They are easy to use, as no complicated calculations are required when switching from one filter to another - the exposure time for filters 00 to 3½ remains the same, while for filters 4 to 5, it simply doubles.

Multigrade Filters are available in sets of 8.9 x 8.9 cm (3½ x 3½") and 15.2 x 15.2 cm (6 x 6") and can be used both above and below the lens, and can be trimmed to fit enlarger filter drawers if needed. For use below the lens, a filter set is also available, consisting of 12 mounted contrast filters, one mounted darkroom light filter, and a filter holder.
