The HPE Smart Storage Battery is a centralized low halogen lithium ion backup source and is required to back up the write cache content in the event of an unscheduled (P-class) HPE Smart Array Gen10 and Gen9 performance RAID controller unplanned RAID performance on the flash memory of the HPE Smart Array Gen10 and Gen9 performance RAID controllers Server power outage The battery is also the back-up power source for HPE NVDIMMS and allows data to be moved in DRAM flight to the non-volatile NAND flash. Only one battery is required per server as multiple devices can be supported.
