The HPE Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10 Controller is a RAID controller suitable for large enterprises, providing better performance for messaging, database, or general server applications. When connected to internal storage units at 12 Gb/s, it enables SAS connections at 12 Gb/s on HPE ProLiant Gen10 servers.

It enhances performance with a 2 GB Flash-backed Write Cache, reducing latency for write-intensive applications that require extensive logging, such as databases.

The controller improves performance in storage environments where data is repeatedly read from a large number of Solid State Drives. It utilizes HPE SSD Smart Path to create a faster I/O path between the controller and the Solid State Drive.

With HPE Smart Array SR SmartCache (optional license), you can accelerate data access in disk environments by moving active data into cache storage on Solid State Drives.
