This work by the archivist and historian Otto Beneke (1812 - 1891) collects a wide range of legends and stories about the history of the city of Hamburg from the period 805 - 1750, including historical legends about the origins of the city and the three castles, as well as more humorous stories by Till Eulenspiegel in Hamburg, in order to convey a comprehensive and characteristic overall picture. This book is a high quality reprint of the long out of print original edition of 1854.
