End time GDR

The prose texts, poems, and miniatures reflect the felt experience of East Germany in the 1980s and do not claim to represent the moods of the entire society. Discontent and displeasure, confusion and resignation resonate in the texts, as do despair and loneliness, along with a longing for love.
