LWL patch cables are defined components of an internationally standardized structured cabling system according to ISO/IEC 11801. Historically, many different connectors have developed in structured cabling, with the following still being relevant: LC, SC, E2000®, MPO/MTP. An LWL patch cable represents the shortest connection between a passive cabling port and an active network port, or a point-to-point connection between two active network ports.
